The orchids of Taiwan or not isolated or restricted just to the numerous hot house nurseries that I showed you on the last Fantasy Friday post. A simple stroll through a park or down a street and you are likely to come face to face with these beautiful plants. It takes a little getting used to as normally one encounters orchids in specific pampered conditions. They are however a very tough plant and can be found growing out of anywhere.
Along with the orchids the Taiwan streets are filled with many other tropical flowers that seem to rely on no one but themselves for survival. I was there during their winter season, I really can’t imagine what it must look like during their growing months. I recognized some of the bushes as hibiscus, others were roses and then the unknowns to me.
